Our community
research & development

We work with our resident and community partners to research into specific societal challenges so that we can develop accessible public resources with the insights and strategies we need to solve things.

THE PROCESS

Our community research and development projects are an iterative learning process for us.

So far, this is how we are doing it.

We consider a specific area of challenge that a specific community of citizens is facing.

1

We frame a design challenge “how might / can we…?” to provide direction.

2

We find an institutional partner who is willing to fund our community R&D project. If that does not happen, we consider alternative funding options (like crowd-funding or self-funding).

3

We work with formally trained research partners and content matter experts who help us look at the challenge from their specific area of expertise or experience.

4

We gather insights and develop an accessible DIY public resource with insights and strategies that citizens facing such situations might find useful.

5

If applicable, we develop a training programme around this resource to train up emerging citizen facilitators and coaches.
