Does this sound familiar?
You don't have to know exactly what the problem is to know something needs to change.
"An old workplace ground me down. I want to enter the next chapter differently. I'm just not sure yet who that different version of me is."
"I keep getting the same feedback. I know I need to change. But the path from here to there isn't clear."
"There are dynamics I've never had to navigate before — team undercurrents, power play, unfamiliar politics. My current moves aren't working."
Either way, you're not failing. You're stuck — and you need more than skills training to get through this.
This moment is what
The Practitioner's Journey is for.

NOTIf the challenge you're facing isn't about skills or tactics — but about who you're becoming — The Leader’s Journey is for you.
If you prefer to set your own agenda, explore Open Coaching.
What It IsA strategic coaching process — for practitioners who need a peer to work with them at two levels simultaneously:
who you are as a person,
and how you shift the system as a professional.
It is for practitioners who suspect the problem isn't just them, or just the organisation — but somewhere in the mixture of both. That mixture is exactly where this work begins.
Constantly working, we practitioners can get stuck in professional mode only —
what do I have to do? What must I achieve?
Not "How can I be a better performer?" but
"Who must I be to move things forward— and what does moving differently actually look like in practice?
I becoming — and who do I long to be?"
Three acts.
One journey.
The six months move through three distinct phases. You don't rush through them. You move through them depending on the weight you're carrying.
ACT 1
See Clearly
Many leaders seek clarity from others - rather than practice seeing themselves, others and their situation clearly.
-
You cannot change what you cannot see. You cannot choose what you cannot see. It is awareness that begets choice — and births change.
This is why we always start here: developing the discipline to see clearly what's going on — for you, for others, and in the situation — while examining what you may be biased to overlook.
ACT 2
Find Your Ground
Many leaders get lost because they follow old maps - rather than practice map-making as they pave their own way.
-
You cannot navigate new situations by simply following old patterns and other people's blueprints. At some point, you have to know what you actually think, value, and need.
This phase grounds you in your own guiding instincts — while uncovering the unconscious maps you may be operating from without realising it.
ACT 3
Move Differently
Many leaders get hijacked by old habits along the way - rather than practice a broader range of new moves.
-
You cannot find your way forward with the same moves that got you stuck.
This phase is about experimenting, learning, and iterating — getting comfortable with trying things differently, noticing what shifts, and building a wider repertoire of options.
What to Expect❋ Six Structured Sessions
One session a month — giving you space to practise and apply what emerged from each conversation. The journey moves through three acts. The sequence doesn't change. The pacing is yours to define.
❋ Post-Session Integration Practices
For things to change, what is talked about in the session needs to carry over into life outside it. Each session closes with a specific reflective practice or discernment question to work on before the next conversation.
❋ Customised Diagnostic Frameworks
The tools Common Ground uses across its culture change and leadership development work — adapted specifically for individual leaders at high-stakes moments.
❋ A Peer, Not Just a Coach
You will be challenged — not just coached. You will also be accompanied by someone who knows from experience in the trenches of leading organisations that the journey is tough, things are complex, and trying to work with integrity inside imperfect systems is as hard as it sounds.
Who Is Guiding YouShiao-Yin Kuik
Shiao-Yin has spent two decades navigating change and complexity through a solid ground of purpose and conviction.
She has built organisations, led decision-making under crisis, navigated consequential debates under public scrutiny - and rebuilt teams from ruptures that could have ended everything. She brings to her coaching clients not questions from a safe distance but the empathy and credibility of a peer practitioner who has applied these frameworks in the trenches of her own defining moments as a leader.
Her goal is not to polish you into a higher performing version of who think you ought to be. She is more interested in guiding you towards a more integrated, whole version of who you are.
The Practitioner's Journey draws on her experience as a team & organisational leader, her work as a culture change strategist and practices she has refined across twenty years of working with leaders in the public, private, people sector — as well as individuals seeking spiritual direction.
